Radar Recommends: Beijing Electronic Music Encounter III

Festival-starved Beijingers will be pleased to see the return of BEME, presented by electro label Sinotronics. This year the event will host 15 progressive artists over 3 days from both China and India, providing a unique fusion of audible delights.

The theme of this year’s edition is:

“DARK BRIDGES: hidden connections, unexpected directions, new results. This is not a fallback on the familiar, but a bridge to the unknown.”

Judging from the coinciding releases that will take place, including; the first CD release from Sinotronics, the debut album of Beijing’s FAR/∞, as well as the release of an inaugural Sino-Indian Music Alliance compilation CD, it seems BEME has successfully become a real platform developing artists can depend on to reach discerning audiences. The fact it’s going down in Beijing – a notoriously difficult city to get anything pushed through without bolstering from an organization with serious clout – is also commendable.

You can check out the Sinotronics website here.
