Beijing gets another independent slice of label goodness.

Rose Mansion Analog, Beijing, China

The boys and girls from the Offset:Spectacles have put together the wonderfully monikered “Rose Mansion Analog” which, according to them, is

an analog music label based in Beijing, China. Its goal is to get things done right.

Independent and musician-oriented, Rose Mansion seeks to catalogue and disperse the most exciting and idiosyncratic recording artists in China, as well as to foster sonic exchange between like-minded performers and audiences across the world.

The label was founded in 2010. Its first run of releases include cassettes from the Offset: Spectacles, Hot & Cold, Soviet Pop, and Dirty Beaches.

For their first foray out of the studio, they are bringing us the legendary Silver Apples in May, live in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. That’s going to be some psychedelic shit right there.

There is video on the RMA website linked above. Somewhat disturbingly, when you click play on the Youku window and wait expectantly for some freaky distorted craziness, you are first greeted with a vomitous advert for VEET, an underarm hair remover. The boys and girls at Youku haven’t got their targeted advertising worked out just yet.
