A month ago, China Music Radar was offered the chance to work with the great, the genius that is DJ Shadow. The price was high and we decided against it. We would only have had 6 weeks to sort the whole thing out. We didn’t believe anyone would take an artist of this calibre (cost) at such short notice. We reckoned without someone very Richy.
Josh Davis will be coming to China, playing Beijing on November 7 and Shanghai on November 8. The tragedy for me is that such a seminal artist will be wasted in such musical bastions as Club Angel in Sanlitun and Club Richy in Fuxing Park (which is described so:

We’re not prejudiced (well, not much) but the thought of one of this author’s musical heroes playing in a venue called “Club Richy” fills me with a sense of despair. His genius will be wasted there.
