The strange case of post scrubbing

About 2 weeks ago, we reported that Beijing venues were being told they should close for the night. Reason? A certain Chinese prisoner was being awarded a certain prize that night for Peace and for his part in a petition that didn’t go down well here in China.

Anyway, we were careful to phrase the post similarly to the paragraph above. Several people disagreed with us, saying they had gone out to see music and that venues were most certainly open. Our intel came from 3 different venues who had been visited by the local police who had told them to close for the night. In any case, the post was picked up a little on Twitter and viewed a few times.

Fast forward to today and we were looking over the homespun feel of our homepage, and we noticed that the “Beijing Venues Closed” post was there in title only. The comments still existed, the title was there, but the content was gone. Coincidence? WordPress glitch? Sinister goings on? We can only surmise at this point in time. You can see the crazy post HERE. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Happy (and Big Brotherly) New Year! Xin Nian Kuai Le!
