We would like to balance that with the new podcast from Beijing’s Tag Team Records, tactfully named Yellow Fever. The Tag Team guys are probably Beijing’s hippest dudes. The podcast was recorded drunk, so we must put Parental Advisory on our recommendation. Despite the profusion of “rads” and “dudes” (and others), the music featured is excellent.
The second podcast in the series features Ed Peto, impresario of MicroMu, an ad-supported record label that recently celebrated its first anniversary. Music comes from the likes of Zhao Guang, Xiao Wang, Zhang Guonian and the podcast gives a great insight into Beijing’s singer/ songwriting centre. Starts off great, descends into meaningless chaos. We love it!

hi, i’m jonney driver and i’m an intern at tag team records. yellow fever is pretty funny and stuff, but you should see the office the morning after each episode is recorded. it’s like a neutron bomb composed of gut-rot scotch bottles and indian food detonated…and i have to clean it up! as a matter of fact, they just recorded with matthew niederhouser recently and somebody took a massive shit on my desk! WTF?! those guys dive ME to drink. retards. anyway, i just needed to get that out. feel much better now. sometimes it’s good to vent, right?
